These terms govern your access to and use of CarTrust.cy and the vehicle history reports we provide. By creating an account, ordering a report, or otherwise using the service, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Introduction & the service

Welcome to CarTrust.cy, a service operated by LYNV CODE LTD. We provide digital vehicle history verification, auction data, and condition reports (the “Service”). Contact us any time at our contact page.

Depending on the vehicle's origin, the Service includes:

• Japanese Imports: Sourcing and translating Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) auction sheets, condition reports, and verification data.
• UK-Registered Vehicles: Providing UK Provenance Data, which may include outstanding finance checks, insurance write-off markers, and police stolen records, sourced from authorised third-party UK databases, including the DVLA.

Japanese import reports are produced for the vehicle identifier (VIN/chassis) you supply. UK reports are produced for the registration plate you supply. It is your responsibility to confirm that identifier matches the vehicle you are inspecting.

2. Report retention & certificate availability

When you generate or purchase a vehicle history report or certificate through our Service, we guarantee that the digital certificate will remain available and accessible through our platform for a maximum period of one (1) year from the date of issue.

We are not legally or operationally bound to host, maintain, or provide access to any certificate beyond this one-year period. However, the expiration of this one-year access guarantee does not obligate us to delete the report. We reserve the right to retain the report data within our internal systems indefinitely for record-keeping, auditing, and compliance purposes.

3. Accuracy of information & disclaimers

The information provided in our reports is compiled from various third-party databases, auctions, and government agencies. While we strive to provide accurate data, we cannot guarantee its absolute completeness or real-time accuracy.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or accuracy. A report is not an independent mechanical inspection and is not a substitute for one. You should always physically inspect a vehicle, and obtain professional advice, before making a purchase decision.

Without limitation, you acknowledge and accept that CarTrust is not liable for any discrepancy, error, omission, or change in — and gives no guarantee as to the accuracy or completeness of — any of the following:

• Condition / inspection sheet — the condition or inspection report (including any translation of it) may differ from the actual state of the vehicle.
• Auction grade — the recorded grade may differ from the vehicle's true condition or from a grade assigned elsewhere.
• Accident / repair history — a vehicle shown as clean may have been in an accident or repaired, and vice versa; absence of a record is not proof of absence of damage.
• Mileage & rollback — odometer readings and any rollback indication come from third-party records and may be inaccurate, manipulated, or incomplete.
• Photos & images — photographs may be of a different vehicle, outdated, edited, mislabelled, or not represent the vehicle's current condition.
• Recalls — recall information may be incomplete, out of date, or not applicable to the specific vehicle; always confirm with the manufacturer or an authorised dealer.
• Finance & Provenance (UK Data) — outstanding finance, stolen markers, and insurance write-off data reflect the status recorded by third-party agencies, such as the police, insurance companies, or finance houses, at the exact time of the query. Delays in third-party database updates mean a vehicle's actual real-world status may occasionally differ from the report.
• UK Registration Data — DVLA-derived data, including keeper changes and registration details, is provided for informational purposes only and may not reflect recent unregistered changes.
• All other data — make, model, year, specification, shipping/transit status, and any other field in a report.

You agree that any decision you make in reliance on a report is made at your own risk, and that you will independently verify any information that matters to your decision.

4. Your responsibilities & permitted use

You agree to use the Service and the reports lawfully, and strictly for your own personal or internal business purposes. Specifically, when accessing UK Provenance Data, you agree that you have a “Reasonable Cause” to do so, such as intending to purchase, sell, or insure the specific vehicle being checked.

You strictly agree that you will not:

• Resell, republish, distribute, or systematically extract reports, certificates, or site content to supply third parties.
• Use the data obtained from our Service to compile a new, duplicate, or additional database, directory, or lookup service.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, uncover, or scrape any masked or concealed data, such as full VIN/Chassis numbers, provided in the reports.
• Use automated systems, including bots, spiders, or scrapers, to access our APIs or website.
• Share or distribute your account credentials to any third party.

5. Right to restrict or suspend service

We reserve the absolute right to refuse, suspend, or permanently terminate access to our Service for any user or company at our sole discretion, without prior notice or liability.

We will strictly enforce this right if we suspect, for any reason, that a user or company is abusing our Service, violating these Terms and Conditions, attempting to bypass security measures, or utilizing our data in connection with fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activities.

6. Payments, reports & subscriptions

• Prices are shown at the point of purchase and, where indicated, are inclusive of VAT.
• Report credits and subscription allowances may carry an expiry date, shown in your account.
• Subscriptions deliver a set report allowance each period. Manual subscriptions run for a fixed term; recurring subscriptions are billed automatically until cancelled.
• You may cancel a subscription at any time; reports already added to your account remain usable until they expire. Cancellation stops future periods and charges.
• Because a report is delivered digitally and immediately, it is generally non-refundable once issued, except where required by applicable law or at our discretion.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CarTrust shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from a decision you make in reliance on a report. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the report or subscription period giving rise to the claim.

8. Intellectual property

The site, report layouts, certificates, and branding are owned by CarTrust. The underlying source data belongs to its respective owners. You receive a personal, non-transferable right to use a report you have purchased.

9. Privacy

We process your personal data to provide the service, as described in our privacy practices. For any privacy request, contact us via our contact page.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when they last changed. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of Cyprus have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
